Following complex impasses faced by the biodiversity of Burundi whose low level of information and awareness that limits the different actors to take appropriate action and initiate thoughtful interventions for the conservation of biodiversity, sustainable use of genetic ressources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from them, a National Strategy and Action Plan in the field of exchange of information on biodiversity has been developed as a solution around the national vision: "By 2020, information is provided to all stakeholders on scientific and traditional knowledge, tools, methods, innovations, technologies and best practices for the implementation of the Strategy and Action Plan on Biological Diversity".
