Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus "On Accession of the Republic of Belarus to the International Treaty"
Decree prescribes to acced to the African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA), signed at The Hague on June 16, 1995 (hereinafter - the Treaty), with the following limitation:
"The Republic of Belarus on the basis of Article XV of the Treaty shall not apply Annex 3 to the Treaty with respect to:
the prohibition referred to in paragraph 2.1.2 (a) of Annex 3 to the Treaty on the taking of birds belonging to the populations listed in column B of the table 1 Annex 3 to the Treaty at different stages of their breeding and brood rearing and during their journey to their breeding grounds if taking out has an unfavorable impact on the conservation status of the population concerned;
the prohibition referred to in paragraph 2.1.2 (b) of Annex 3 to the Treaty on the use of all indiscriminate means of taking out and means capable of causing mass destruction, the local disappearance, as well as causing serious anxiety to the birds belonging to the populations listed in column B of Table 1 of Annex 3 to the Treaty;
paragraph 4.1.4 of Annex 3 to the Treaty.11.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection was set as the State body responsible for the implementation of the commitments undertaken by the Republic of Belarus under the Agreement.
