This permit is intended solely to facilitate bona fide research and shall not be used for purposes of commercial exploitation or financial gain by the permit holder. The specific species authorised for collection, together with the applicable conditions and limitations governing the research and collection activities, are set out in Research and Collection Permit No. CMP 35604 , issued by the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism, and Permit No. MP6116 , issued by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency.

Nine ABS products developed under ABS Framework in 2025
The National Biodiversity Centre conducted the first day of a two-day awareness program for the tourism sector on 17 March 2026 at Serbithang. The program covered biodiversity conservation, global and national biodiversity frameworks, biopiracy, the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Nagoya Protocol, and Bhutan's Access and Benefit Sharing mechanisms. Participants also visited NBC's biodiversity facilities and the Biodiversity Interpretation Centre and Orchidarium at the Royal Botanical Garden, Serbithang. The program aims to enhance awareness and encourage the tourism sector to actively contribute to biodiversity conservation and documentation through the Bhutan Biodiversity Portal (BBP).
Bhutan Launched Ten (10) new Bioprospecting Products developed under the Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Framework
As part of the larger consultation and validation for the preparation of the First National Report on the Implementation of the Nagoya Protocol, an awareness programme was conducted for the wider stakeholders at the national and subnational level.
