This Act lays down supplementary provisions to Regulation (EU) No 511/2014 in oder to implement the obligations under the Nagoya Protocol and to transpose the EU Regulation in Germany.

Relationships description

Article 34a of the German Patent Act complements the German Act Implementing the Obligations under the Nagoya Protocol and Transposing Regulation (EU) No 511/2014. It contains an obligation to disclose the country of origin in relevant patent application processes and ensures that the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation as the German Competent National Authority receives relevant information related to the source of a genetic resource and its utilization.
