This permit allows collection, possession and transportation of marine organisms: Argyrosomus thorpei, Argyrosomus japonicus, Argyrosomus inodorus, Diplodus capensis, Dichistius capensis, Pachymetopon grande, and Chrysoblephus laticeps for the purpose of bona fide research subjected to the provisions and regulations of the following laws:

d) The National Environment Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No. 57 of 2003)
e) The Sea Birds and Seals Protection Act, 1973 (Act No. 46 of 1973)
f) The Prevention of Pollution from Ships Act, 1986 (Act No. 2 of 1986)
g) The National Environment Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008 (Act No. 24 of 2008)

This permit allows collection, possession and transportation of marine organisms Argyrosomus thorpei, Argyrosomus japonicus, Argyrosomus inodorus, Diplodus capensis, Dichistius capensis, Pachymetopon grande, and Chrysoblephus laticeps for the purpose of research. Standard permit conditions and species outlined in The Permit issued by Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment under reference number Res2026/11 and Res2026/39
This permit is intended to facilitate bona fide research and should not be used for the purposes of financial gain by the permit holder. Exact species covered by the collection permit outline in permit number Res2026/11 and Res2026/39.

- Scientific investigation or practical experiment which includes the collection, possession and transportation of marine species: Argyrosomus thorpei, Argyrosomus japonicus, Argyrosomus inodorus, Diplodus capensis, Dichistius capensis, Pachymetopon grande, and Chrysoblephus laticeps.
- The summary of the research findings and outcomes including the dates, locations, species and quantities collected should be submitted to the Issuing Authority.
- No specimens should be used in any other bioprospecting context.
- The permit excludes collection and transportation of any abalone species.
Species collected in terms of this permit shall not be sold or offered for sale.
The specimens will be send to the below Institution in China for bona fide research:
