Legislative, administrative or policy basis for the competence of the Competent National Authority
In accordance with the relevant provisions of Presidential Decree­97/2017 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 138) the CNA is responsible for:
A)the application of Articles 4, 5 and 7 of the ­Regulation, in the exercise of their powers and in the exercise of existing licensing powers for research under Presidential Decree­80/90 (A); 40), or other relevant provisions falling within their scope of competence.
B) the application of the provisions of the Regulation in respect of the genetic resources of the country falling within their scope of competence.
C) carrying out checks and inspections of users in areas of their competence and keeping a control record of controls and any remedial measures, in accordance with Articles 9 and 10 of the Regulation.
the transmission of the information received pursuant to Articles 5, 7 (paragraphs 1 and 2) and 10 of the Regulation to the National Coordinator
