CABI has developed an overall policy and best practice to ensure compliance with the Nagoya Protocol (https://www.cabi.org/news-and-media/2018/conserving-and-using-genetic-resources-as-part-of-cabi-s-commitment-to-the-nagoya-protocol/). In 2018, CABI Switzerland, supported by the Swiss Federal Office of Environment (FOEN), developed potential criteria for the recognition of ABS Best Practices, followed by a a case study to apply suggested criteria. Based on the latter, Best Practices were developed for CABI Switzerland, which were officially recognized by FOEN in March 2020.
