The field of jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is "Agricultural bio-resources in accordance with the Act on the Conservation, Management, and Use of Agricultural Bio-Resources".

Article 13 (2) of the Act on Access to and Utilization of Genetic Resources and Benefit-Sharing prescribes the duties of the head of the National Checkpoint as follows:

Article 13 (2) of the Act on Access to and Utilization of Genetic Resources and Benefit-Sharing prescribes the duties of the head of the National Checkpoint as follows:
- Processing procedural compliance reporting in accordance with Article 15 of the Act;
- Monitoring and recommending procedural compliance Article 16 of the Act;
- Supporting persons who utilize foreign genetic resource(s) domestically.

The contacts indicated below will receive email copies of checkpoint communiqués containing the information collected or received and published from this checkpoint.
All Competent National Authorities designated for Republic of Korea have been selected to automatically receive checkpoint communiqués by email published from this checkpoint.
No additional authorities have been selected to receive the automatic email copies of checkpoint communiqués published from this checkpoint.

In accordance with Article 13 (1) 2 of the Enforcement Decree, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as the head of the National Checkpoint, delegates authority (excluding the authority in matters related to forest bio-resources and microbial pathogen resources of “agricultural bio-resources” defined in subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of Act on the Conservation, Management, and Use of Agricultural Bio-Resources) over the following matters to the Administrator of Rural Development Administration pursuant to Article 23 (1) of the Act:
In accordance with Article 13 (1) 2 of the Enforcement Decree, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as the head of the National Checkpoint, delegates authority (excluding the authority in matters related to forest bio-resources and microbial pathogen resources of “agricultural bio-resources” defined in subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of Act on the Conservation, Management, and Use of Agricultural Bio-Resources) over the following matters to the Administrator of Rural Development Administration pursuant to Article 23 (1) of the Act:
- Supporting persons who utilize foreign genetic resource(s) in the Republic of Korea, under Article 13 (2) 3 of the Act;
- Processing procedural compliance reporting under Article 15 of the Act;
- Monitoring and recommending procedural compliance under Article 16 of the Act;
- Imposing and collecting administrative fines pursuant to Article 28 (1) 2 of the Act.
In accordance with Article 13 (2) of the Enforcement Decree, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as the head of the National Checkpoint, delegates authority (the authority in matters related to forest bio-resources of “agricultural bio-resources” defined in subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of Act on the Conservation, Management, and Use of Agricultural Bio-Resources) over the following matters to the Minister of the Korea Forest Service pursuant to Article 23 (1) of the Act:
- Supporting persons who utilize foreign genetic resource(s) in the Republic of Korea, under Article 13 (2) 3 of the Act;
- Processing procedural compliance reporting under Article 15 of the Act;
- Monitoring and recommending procedural compliance under Article 16 of the Act;
- Imposing and collecting administrative fines pursuant to Article 28 (1) 2 of the Act.
In accordance with Article 13 (3) of the Enforcement Decree, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as the head of the National Checkpoint, delegates authority (the authority in matters related to microbial pathogen resources of “agricultural bio-resources” defined in subparagraph 1 of Article 2 of Act on the Conservation, Management, and Use of Agricultural Bio-Resources) over the following matters to the Commissioner of the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency pursuant to Article 23 (1) of the Act:
- Supporting persons who utilize foreign genetic resource(s) in the Republic of Korea, under Article 13 (2) 3 of the Act;
- Processing procedural compliance reporting under Article 15 of the Act;
- Monitoring and recommending procedural compliance under Article 16 of the Act;
- Imposing and collecting administrative fines pursuant to Article 28 (1) 2 of the Act.
